The Monomed is a modern take on the classic swedish vehicle called “spark”, used for rapid movement on snow or ice. It earned the designers Lars Eriksson and Bengt Pettersson the award "Excellent Swedish form" for best product in 1995. To operate it, you stand on one foot on the metal runner, and to move forward you kick like on a skateboard with the other foot alongside the runner. It takes some practice to be able to maneuver this, but once you have learned it you will travel fast over hard packed surfaces. |
